Welcome back!

Stop the madness. A brief synopsis of Ancel Keys’ Starvation Study and the effects of low-calorie/fat dieting. Research taken from Good Calories, Bad Calories by Gary Taubes. Low-fat diets may be making you sick and FAT. The last thing you want to do when reducing bodyfat is slowing down your metabolism. Low fat diets may cause depression, anxiety, cognitive dysfunction, poor wound healing, etc. Be smart. Investigate the truth.

You’ve got it spot-on man. It’s hard to change these conventions, especially when HFCS and cereal companies are so involved in funding the research.

If calories is a true measure of energy, then why if you eat something high calories, does it sit on your bodies as fat, why are you not running around with all this energy? Because junk food isn’t true energy, it’s toxic, poison, and it’s put as fat because the body doesn’t have enough real energy to expell it, so it site there. True energy though, from fresh raw vegan food does give you energy to move and grow, and live, and doesn’t sit on your belly and arse as fat.

Calories - really is a measure of burning food (yes with fire) under a bunsen burner, and providving enough heat to raise a litre of water by 1 degrees. Now correct me if i’m wrong, but that’s not how our bodies use energy is it?

Sean, you are a Godsend to me. I never thought I could lose weight without struggling. Although I still find it hard to eat meat so often it is worth it to not be hungry and craving carbs all the time. I hardly think of food now. I could go for a ribeye for supper tomorrow. Yummy. I’ve lost 16 lbs in 1 month.

I know. If they are not cold once they add
fat into their diet I can understand that but just saying that I don’t know if there is that clear cut of a correlation that’s all.

right, he’s not saying that if you ARE cold it’s because of your diet, but your diet can make you cold. cause and effect.

I don’t know about the whole being cold thing and a connection with what you eat. I am skinny and always cold but I eat a diet that is def not low in fat.

If I have to choose between spending money on high quality organic food, and vitamins, organic wins.

If people had supported organic, and small farming from the 50’s tothe present day - instead of being brainless consumer cows following food industry dictates - our soil would be in beautifull condition today.

So buy best quality produce, and you won’t have to buy vitamins, which for the most part, perpetuate the viscious cycle of soil depletion.

It’s not too late to reverse the damage!

“On April 8, 2003, at age 72, Dr. Atkins slipped on the ice while walking to work, hitting his head and causing bleeding around his brain. He lost consciousness on the way to the hospital, where he spent two weeks in intensive care. His death certificate states that the cause of death was “blunt impact injury of head with epidural hematoma”

It’s amazing what 2 seconds of research will do, you fucking moron.

In Diet Delusion Gary Taubes challenges the equivalent belief against the 1st law of thermodynamics. And to people who say its just water/muscle you’ve lost (7.5st) I don’t think i had that much muscle - especially as more than 3/4 of it has gone from my waist! Then again i kept on telling my family it wasn’t fat there but it was muscle - they never believed me though ! :-) And water loss? Well its amazing that loss of water also means loss of adipose tissue as well! 6XL to L/XL & now a 36waist

I Totally agree with you. I had to give MY Gary Taubes book to my Doctor for a Xmas gift - (I never buy him gifts) because i felt he should stop promoting the wrong diet and they’ve sold out here in the UK.
Carbs = insulin = Alpha Glycerol phosphate
Glycerol binds a fatty acid & a triglyceride together = FAT!
No Carbs = No Insulin = No Glycerol.
So Fat cant be made resulting in your body burning your fat stores for it.
It is Insulin thats the problem. This is dependant on your carb intake

LMAO. Unlimited calories? Oh really? So I guess I can go ahead and eat a couple dozen boxes of eggs on top of ten chicken breasts and not gain a shred of weight. Yeah, that sounds just about right. Thanks, dude.

cows are fat because of their genetic make up… they actually have the right idea, eat very little portions all the time… thats the trick

January 13, 2009

TO ALL YOU FAT PEOPLE…..

Stop eating shite or stop eating full stop. None of you are ‘ill’ with a condition or have big bones or ‘hold lots of water’. Slow down on the eating!!
There were plenty of fatties went in the concentration camps in WW2 but they all came out thin…why….BECAUSE THEY DIDN’T EAT.
Look at cows in a field - they’re all fat. Why? BECAUSE THEY EAT ALL THE TIME.

Has the penny dropped?

this is good point; maybe thats why atkins died????Hmmm….. anyone on that diet? ever wonder who was that guy? he died.

lsutiger9314

low carbohydrate diets are JUST as bad. when you cut carbs the first weight that goes is water weight. for every gram of water you take in you need to store 3 molecules of water with it. carbohydrates are the baseline fuel for your metabolism. you CANNOT burn fat without have some carbs burning as well. and if you are not getting those carbs gluconeogenesis occurs and that is the formation of glucose (carbohydrates) from other sources i.e. PROTEIN. water and protein all lean mass lost
